Echo Town’s Save a Prayer Romps to Maiden Victory
It was a fifth winner of the year for Echo Town on Wednesday when Save a Prayer (3g Echo Town x Cave In, by Mineshaft) romped to a maiden breaking win at Parx.
Making his second start of the year in the six-furlong dirt race, the 3-year-old kept the pressure on Au Some Warrior early on. Another horse joined him in the task around the turn and left Save a Prayer some extra work to do, but that proved to be no issue.
Splitting the pair at the top of the stretch, Save a Prayer had the lead in short order and romped to a 6 ¼ length victory as the other two dueled behind him.
Kathleen Demasi trains the Echo Town son for Pewter Stable and James Politano with Save a Prayer finishing in the top two in both his starts this year.
Bred by Susan Young, Save a Prayer is a half-brother to the multiple stakes winning Vagabond Princess and three other winners out of dual winner Cave In. Cave Inis a half-sister to champion Too Much Tip and stakes winner Agent Di Nozzo.
Five winners puts Echo Town fourth among all second crop sires by winners in 2025 with his 25 percent winners to starters putting him third in the group behind Tiz The Law.
