Maximun Gold Newest Maximum Security Winner
Maximun Gold (3f Maximum Security x Honest Gold, by Medaglia d’Oro) became the 27th winner overall for her sire with a Santa Anita maiden victory.
A bridesmaid in her two most recent starts, Maximun Gold was looking for the win in the 6 ½ furlong dirt race and ready to run when the gate opened. Spending the opening stage of the race shadowing the top share, she made a challenge at the half-mile pole and quickly had the lead.
She had the lead coming into the stretch, but had to battle a few rivals late and was able to get the win by half a length.
Trained by Ruben Gomez for Susan Derby and Gary Folgner, she was bred in Kentucky by Palm Beach Racing.
The filly is out of two-time winner Honest Gold, whose six winners from six to race include the multiple stakes winner R Kinsley Doll. Honest Gold is a half-sister to three stakes performers, including multiple Grade III winner Law Abiding Citizen and Grade III winner Feedback.
The family also includes Grade I winners I Ain’t Bluffing and Borrego and Canadian champion Truth of It All.
