Son Of Footstepsinthesand Lands Maiden Win

Capall Rasa (2g Footstepsinthesand - Point Reyes, by Competitive Edge) landed his first win when striking at Southwell on Friday.

Making his third start, the Tom Dascombe-trained two-year-old was settled towards the rear before making headway from two furlongs out.

Capall Rasa took up the lead inside the final 110 yards to win by a comfortable length-and-a-half in the hands of Billy Loughnane.

Footstepsinthesand has been represented this year by progressive Group 2 Solonaway Stakes winner Alakazi, as well as Group 3 Prix Greffulhe scorer Midak, both homebreds for the Aga Khan Studs. Alakazi holds an entry for the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot later this month.
