Mares in Foal to Shinzo Popular

Golden Slipper winner Shinzo was the busiest first season sire in Australia last year and a select group of mares were offered at Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale this week in foal to the brilliant son of Snitzel.

Seven mares were sold with a positive test to Shinzo with the most expensive of them being stakes-winning import Kela’s Turn (USA), who was offered by Lime Country Thoroughbreds and sold for $300,000.

A good tough sprinting mare that won nine races, Kela’s Turn was in foal first season on a very early cover and was bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock.

Also both selling for $200,000 were well related More Than Ready (USA) mare Kaminsky to Cinco Star Pty Ltd and stakes-placed Miss Teheran (IRE) to Viv Oldfield.

Two more mares sold for $150,000 with I Am Invincible mare Iamican bought by Edward and Sandra Beirs, while Twin Hulls Stud snapped up Invincible Spirit import Desert Team (IRE).

The arrival of first foals by Shinzo this spring will be something to look forward to and his fee this year is set at $55,000.
