So You Think Mare On The Up

Progressive mare Oh Diamond Lil (4m So You Think x Rare Diamond, by Redoute’s Choice) is very much a work in progress for Warwick Farm trainer David Pfieffer and she took another step forward when saluting at Randwick on Saturday.

She started favourite in the Benchmark 72 Midway race over 1600m with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle and duly forged clear to win by the best part of a length taking her overall record to three wins and four placings from eight starts with prizemoney topping $160,000.

“She’s done it nicely today and Dave (Pfieffer) has been patient with her all the way along,” said Kerrin McEvoy.

“She ran second at her last run to a very smart filly in the making in Perfumist , so it was good to see her come back a little in grade and win like that.”

Oh Diamond Lil was a $200,000 Inglis Premier purchase from Maluka Thoroughbreds for David Pfieffer Racing / Koolman Bloodstock and is one of four winners from five to race from stakes-winning Redoute’s Choice mare Rare Diamond, who died in 2023 and her last foal is a yearling colt by So You Think.
