Impressive Debut Win For Wootton Bassett Colt
Wootton Centurion (2c Wootton Bassett - Elevenses, by More Than Ready) made an impressive winning debut at Chantilly on Saturday when storming home by six lengths.
The Victoria Head-trained son of Wootton Bassett was sharp out of the stalls and duly established the lead under Augustin Madamet. Quickening up turning for home, the exciting juvenile came home to score in eye-catching fashion. He became a new TDN Rising Star for his sire.
Wootton Bassett’s juveniles of 2025 also include Group 2 Debutante Stakes winner Composing, Group 2 Futurity Stakes scorer Constitution River and Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes winner and Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes runner-up Beautify.
Another from that crop to look forward to is the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-bound Nighttime, a winner of the Group 3 Prix la Rochette at Longchamp this month.
Wootton Centurion is a homebred for Yeguada Centurion.
