Juvenile Wootton Bassett Filly Strikes On Debut

Lapotheose (2f Wootton Bassett - Loyale, by Turtle Bowl) made the perfect start to her career with a determined win at Angers on Monday.

The Yann Barberot-trained two-year-old was settled behind the leader under Hugo Journiac and found daylight towards the closing stages to win by a head.

A sister to Group 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes winner Atomic Beauty, the daughter of Wootton Bassett was yet another smart juvenile scorer for her in-form sire.

Wootton Bassett has recently been represented by six-length Chantilly winner Wootton Centurion, clear-cut Ayr victor Nobody Knows and Ice Dancer, who won at the second time of asking at Gowran Park.

Lapotheose was bred by Riviera Equine SARL and Gestut Zur Kuste Ag.
