Wootton Bassett Continues Winning Run In Group 3

Zabiari (4c Wootton Bassett – Zaridiya, by Duke Of Marmalade) finished strongly to complete a hat-trick of wins in Sunday’s Group 3 Prix Bertrand du Breuil at Chantilly.

A Group 3 winner as a juvenile, the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained colt ran just once last season but returned to win his first two starts this term. Sent off favourite on Sunday, the Aga Khan homebred raced in midfield under Mickael Barzalona and was ridden to challenge two furlongs from home. Running on strongly close home, he led by a neck on the line.

Another step up in class may now be on the cards for Zabiari, who holds an entry in the Group 1 Prix Jacques Le Marois. The son of Wootton Bassett is the best performer out of his dam Zaridiya.
