Wootton Bassett’s Al Riffa Impresses in Dominant Curragh Cup Victory

Dual Group 1 winner Al Riffa (5c Wootton Bassett – Love On My Mind, by Galileo) showcased his staying prowess in style on Saturday, running out a commanding five-length winner of the Group 2Curragh Cup over 1m6f.

Trained by Joseph O’Brien and ridden by Dylan Browne McMonagle, the five-year-old travelled strongly throughout before asserting in the final furlong.

A consistent top-level performer across Europe, Al Riffa was bred by Haras de Bourgeauville out of the Galileo mare Love On My Mind and holds entries in the Goodwood Cup, Irish ChampionStakes, Arc de Triomphe and Irish St Leger later this season.
