Exciting Prospect Emerges For Mahler

Castle Carrock (6g Mahler – Myztique, by High Chaparral) confirmed himself a smart prospect when beating a well-backed Grade 2 bumper winner in Friday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Sandown.

The son of Mahler sold to Highflyer Bloodstock and Alan King for £100,000 after running out a wide-margin winner of a bumper for Nicky Richards in November, and was partnered by Tom Cannon on his hurdle and stable bow. Racing in touch with the leaders, the bay made headway after the third last and was ridden to lead on the run-in. He kept on well to beat Diva Luna by three and three quarter lengths, the remainder strung out behind them.

The exciting son of Mahler is owned by J Law and was bred by Ms M McKenna.
