Idaho Gelding Draws Clear To Maiden Victory

St Lawrence’s Well (5g Idaho – Flemensmist, by Flemensfirth) led home a 1-2 for Beeches Stud sire Idaho in Sunday’s five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Ballingarry.

William Verling settled the Denis Ahern’s charge towards the back of the 11-horse field and took closer order with six to jump. Leading after the second last, he eased clear to score by seven and a half lengths, while Christy’s Chief (Idaho) finished 17 lengths clear of the third.

Ahern also bred St Lawrence’s Well, who carries the colours of his wife Norah.
