Idaho Gelding Gets Off The Mark In Good Style
The promising Hydration Station (5g Idaho – Good Looking Woman, by Oscar) drew clear on the run-in to win Sunday’s maiden for five and six-year-olds at Castlelands.
Sean Doyle’s charge finished fourth on debut in January and was reunited with Jamie Scallan on his second start, when he finished 15 rivals. Settled in midfield, he began to improve with five to jump and took second after the fourth last. He led before the third last, and after fending off a challenge at the penultimate fence, strode clear on the run-in to win by six and a half lengths.
Owned by Gearoid Doyle and bred by Oliver Loughin, Hydration Station hails from the first crop of Beeches Stud sire Idaho.
