Idaho Mare Eases Clear To Maiden Victory
Cj’s Darling (5m Idaho – Carries Darling, by Flemensfirth) justified strong market support to get off the mark in Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Sligo.
Gavin Cromwell’s representative was sent off favourite to make it third time lucky and tracked the leaders for much of the way under Conor Stone-Walsh. Eased into the lead after the second last, she boasted a clear advantage by the final flight and went on to score by 10 lengths.
The winning rider commented: “She’s done it well, travelled well everywhere and jumped well on the whole. Hopefully she can keep improving and she loved that nice ground.”
Bred by William Mangan, Cj’s Darling is owned by the Temple Bloodstock Syndicate. From the first crop of Beeches Stud sire Idaho, she has a yearling brother by In Swoop waiting in the wings.
