Mahler Mare Beats The Boys On Debut
Bay Empress (6m Mahler – Ebony Empress, by Kris Kin) made a smart start to her career when beating the short-priced favourite in Saturday’s bumper at Wetherby.
The Micky Hammond-trained newcomer made all under Henry Brooke and was ridden after the two-furlong pole. She kept on gamely to score by two lengths from the well-backed Little Ledgend (Yeats).
The Mahler mare is owned by Sharp Hill Thoroughbreds and was bred by Neill Patrick Francis Doran.
