Promising Son Of Idaho Makes Winning Debut Over Hurdles

Idaho Sun (5g Idaho - West Elite, by Westerner) made his first start over hurdles a winning one when confidently striking at Fontwell on Sunday.

The son of Idaho has now won three of his four starts for Harry Fry and owner Jeremy Gear, having struck in two bumpers last autumn and winter.

He was also a respectable sixth in the Grade 1 Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Idaho Sun was ridden by Bryan Carver and the odds-on favourite was positioned prominently before making a move from two flights out. He led before the last and went clear to strike by three and a half lengths.

The five-year-old was bred by T McAuliffe.
