Pyledriver Winning At Royal Ascot

Pyledriver’s First Foals Make Their Mark at Tattersalls Ireland

Pyledriver, winner of the 2021 Coronation Cup and 2022 King George, saw his first foals make a notable impression at the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale this week.

Five lots from Pyledriver’s debut crop sold for a median of €16,000, with the top lot, a colt out of Midsummer Drama consigned by The Beeches Stud, fetching €20,000 and purchased by Castleboy Farm. The Beeches Stud’s colt is a half-brother to Grade 2 Old Roan Chase scorer Minella Drama.

Other highlights included Lot 103, a colt out of Farren Fare offered by Ballincurrig House Stud and from the family of top-level winners Ventura and Emblem Road, which was bought by Tullybeg for €18,000, and Lot 365, a colt out of Jesse’s Oscar consigned by Ballinvarrig Stud, purchased by Ian Ferguson, P. McBurney, and G. Quinn for €16,000.

A further eight Pyledriver foals are catalogued for the upcoming Goffs December National Hunt Sale, offering another opportunity for buyers to acquire stock from this exciting Coolmore National Hunt stallion.
