Son Of Walk In The Park Delivers In Maiden Hurdle
Sunday saw Histrionic (6g Walk In The Park – Flemensbay, by Flemensfirth) gain a deserved return to winning ways in the maiden hurdle at Chepstow.
Fourth and subsequently third on his previous starts over hurdles, Paul Nicholls’ charge was well-supported to make it third time lucky under Harry Cobden. Racing prominently throughout the three mile test, the bay was pushed along to lead after the third last and stayed on well on the run-in to score by four and a quarter lengths.
Histrionic gained his first career success when impressing between the flags for Denis Murphy, which saw him sell to Nicholls and Tom Malone for €450,000. The son of Walk In The Park was bred by AV Bloodstock out of an own-sister to Grade 3-winning chaser Kimberlite Candy (Flemensfirth).
