Son Of Walk In The Park Lands First Win Over Hurdles

Ignore The Door (5g Walk In The Park - Maifitz's Madonna, by Milan) made the perfect start under rules when striking at Worcester on Wednesday.

The five-year-old had landed a Monksgrange maiden on his most recent point-to-point start in March for Sean Doyle and subsequently transferred to the yard of Harry Derham.

Ridden by Paul O'Brien on his hurdling debut, Ignore The Door was in touch with the leaders before making headway from three flights out. He led heading towards the last and was ridden out for a three-quarter-length win.

Champion sire Walk In The Park has been represented by some promising sorts as the jumps season gets under way. Among them is easy Roscommon maiden hurdle winner Walks The Talk and Hexham novices' hurdle scorer Imperfectlyperfect.

Ignore The Door was bred by Larry Buckley and Jacqueline Beirne.
