Son Of Walk In The Park Not For Catching
Trasna Na Pairce (6g Walk In The Park – Betty’s The Best, by Oscar) took another step forward on Thursday to justify short-priced favouritism in the maiden hurdle at Clonmel.
After winning a maiden and placing in a bumper for Pat Doyle, the Walk In The Park gelding joined Henry de Bromhead, for whom he finished third in a maiden hurdle last month. Partnered by Darragh O’Keeffe on Thursday, the bay made all of the running and was pushed along before two out. Asserting on the run-in, he went on to score by five lengths, with the front pair finished 35 lengths clear of the remainder.
“He is a lovely horse,” Henry de Bromhead later commented. “Gerry Hogan recommended him from Pat Doyle's and he is owned by a new syndicate to the game so I'm delighted for them.
“Rachael gave him a lovely spin in Kilbeggan last month where he ran well and he probably came on from that. My plan was always to get to a fence sooner rather than later.”
Owned by the Off Ramp Syndicate, Trasna Na Pairce was bred by AV and Minch Bloodstock.
