Son Of Walk In The Park Off The Mark
Empire Soldier (5g Walk In The Park - Fintara, by Kayf Tara) got off the mark when justifying favouritism in the five-year-old geldings maiden at Tinahely on Sunday.
The Denis Murphy-trained gelding has placed twice previously from several runs and this well-deserved victory brought up a double for his connections.
The son of Walk In The Park was ridden by Shane Cotter and put his experience to good use with a comfortable four-and-a-half-length success. In third was Larkfield Lidaho (by Idaho).
Walk In The Park's fine form continued on Sunday with promising Limerick maiden hurdle winners Walks In June and Chosen Comrade adding to his victorious haul.
Empire Soldier was bred by J. Lenihan.
