Walk In The Park Gelding Makes All To Maiden Victory

A change in tactics saw The Long Walk (5g Walk In The Park – Collen Beag, by Mountain High) get off the mark in good style at Warwick on Wednesday afternoon.

Placed in two bumpers and on his hurdle bow, Jonjo and AJ O’Neill’s charge was sent off favourite for Wednesday’s maiden hurdle over two miles and three furlongs. The bay made all of the running under Richie McLernon and was pushed along approaching the second last. Ridden clear by the final flight, he went on to score by 11 lengths from a spread-out field.

Bred by James Slattery, The Long Walk is owned by Martyn and Elaine Booth. The Walk In The Park gelding is a half-brother to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 performer Tripoli Flyer (Getaway).
