Walk In The Park Mare Beats Useful Field On Rules Debut
A Snow White Park (4f Walk In The Park – Danali, by Presenting) looks a filly to follow after making a winning rules debut in Tuesday’s four-year-old hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Owned and trained by Mags Mullins, the grey showed promise on her sole point-to-point start before falling at the second last, but faced more experienced opposition on Tuesday, including three previous winners over hurdles. Ridden in touch with the leaders by Danny Mullins, she made headway from two out and led at the final flight. She ran on well under her rider’s urgings to beat the short-priced favourite by a length and three quarters, with another four lengths back to the third.
“It surprised me how good she was there,” Danny Mullins commented. “To beat Last Kingdom like that, on ratings it puts it as a fair performance. There is a lot to like about her and convincing Mags to hold on to her now is the next thing.”
The daughter of Walk In The Park was bred by Darragh Hennessy.
