Walk In The Park Mare Lands Maiden Success

Arctic Flame (5m Walk In The Park - Arctic Lady, by Soldier Hollow) claimed a deserved first win over hurdles when striking at Down Royal on Friday.

The Patrick Foley-trained daughter of Walk In The Park had finished third at Cork earlier this month and built on that effort with a comfortable two-and-three-quarter length success.

Ridden prominently by Simon Torrens, the five-year-old came to lead before two hurdles out and stayed on strongly to register a first win under rules.

Foley said: "If we could go back, we would probably ride her very differently in a bumper. She always seemed like a filly that basically stays and it was only when we changed tactics with her in her maiden hurdles, when she was held up a bit, that she started finishing out her races better."
