Walk In The Park Mare Lands Wexford Beginners Chase
Ashdale Flyer (6m Walk In The Park - Miss Brandywell, by Sadler's Wells) came home strongly to win on her second start over fences at Wexford on Wednesday.
The Jessica Harrington-trained mare was positioned prominently on the inside by Sean Flanagan and soon came to chase the leader from three fences out. She kept on well to win the extended two-mile-and-three-furlong contest by a length, with a further 12 lengths back to the third-placed runner.
Flanagan said: "I thought she jumped marginally better on her first run over fences, but they went a gallop that day and things evened out a little bit more and she got into a nicer rhythm.
"Today it didn't, and it was a little bit back and forward and it took me a little while to get into that rhythm.
"When they picked up, I wasn’t really quick enough to go with them. The loose horse interfered with them more than he did me. I finished off strong."
Ashdale Flyer was bred by Mr H McDaid.
