Walk In The Park Mare Scores On Hurdle Bow

Dramatic Encore (5m Walk In The Park – Lyrical Theatre, by King’s Theatre) made a perfect start over hurdles when winning the mares’ maiden hurdle at Huntingdon on Thursday afternoon.

The daughter of Walk In The Park had shown promise when placing in a four-year-old mares maiden for Sean Doyle, before finishing fourth in two bumpers for Harry Derham. Racing over two and a half miles on her hurdle bow, the bay raced in touch with the leaders and was pushed along to lead from the second last. Ridden out on the run-in, she kept on well under Paul O’Brien to score by two and three quarter lengths, with another five lengths back to the third.

Dramatic Encore becomes the first winner bred by Apple Tree Farm out of Lyrical Theatre.
