Wild Bill Hickok (Walk in the park) Wins The Prix Go Ahead

Walk In The Park Three-Year-Old Passes Important Test At Auteuil

Wild Bill Hickok (3c Walk In The Park – Royale Joana Has, by Martaline) confirmed himself an exciting prospect when coming from last to first in the Listed Prix Go Ahead at Auteuil on Saturday.

A debut winner in early March, he was one of two Walk In The Park colts who lined up in the race for Mrs Susan Magnier, Noel George and Amanda Zetterholm. Often considered a strong pointer for the Prix Cambaceres, the race was won by subsequent Grade 1 scorers in 2022 and 2023, while earlier victors included Pic d’Orhy and Kauto Star.

Wild Bill Hickok jumped off last under Felix de Giles and remained there jumping the third last. Making brisk headway on the outside approaching the turn for home, he raced to the stands’ side in the straight and leapt into the lead over the second last. Soon in command, he was ridden from the final flight and kept on well to deny the rallying Lotus Vert by a neck. The pair finished seven lengths clear of the remainder.

Bred by Coolmara Stables, the three-year-old entire is now two from three. Gerry Aherne sourced the son of Walk In The Park at Goffs December NH Sale as a foal for €82,000.
