
$700,000 Filly Most Expensive Justify in Book 2
A $700,000 filly led the charge for Justify during Book 2 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale to keep his momentum going.
Purchased by Steve Young, the A.P.’s Glory filly is a half-sister to three stakes performers including stakes winner Givemetwenty and Grade II-placed Kinzie Queen. The filly bred by Curtis Green is a half-sister to six winners from seven to race overall out of the stakes winning A.P.’s Glory.
That mare is one of five winners and two stakes performers out of a half-sister to Grade III winner Casino Magristrate and to the dam of stakes winner and Grade III-placed Whatever Whenever.
Dixiana Farm bred and offered a half-brother to stakes placed Thedingoateyobaby on Thursday with Lael Stable going to $650,000 to purchase the colt.
His dam is a fifth-generation stakes producer with her own dam Camponessa producing the stakes winning duo of Little Nick V and Now Spun among three stakes performers with Mendelssohn’s Grade II winning Delight a granddaughter of Campionessa.
Campionessa is out of the Grade I winning Pacific Squall, who produced the dam of stakes winner and Grade II placed Empressof the Nile, Group III winner Sicupira Gais, and stakes winner Came West.
Others for Justify in Book 2 included a $550,000 colt purchased by My Racehorse and Saffie Joseph Jr. from Stoneriggs Farm and a pair of $425,000 yearlings sold to Flying Dutchmen and C2 Racing Stable.
In all, Justify had 18 sold for an average of $335,556 during the second book with a $325,000 median. Justify has 11 more to sell during the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
