Justify Sire of Fasig-Tipton October Filly Topper

It was a topper for Justify at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale this week when his $500,000 yearling was the most expensive filly of the sale.

Bred by the Phillips Racing Partnership and offered by Darby Dan Farm, the Trade Winds Farm-purchased filly is the is the second foal out of dual stakes winner and multiple Gr.3-placed Winter Sunset. That mare is one of two stakes performers out of dual Gr.1 winner Winter Memories, who also produced her Gr.3 full sister Seasons.

Winter Memories is one of four stakes winners out of another dual Gr.1 winner in Memories Of Silver, who also produced Gr.3 winner and Gr.3 producer La Cloche and the stakes winning duo of British Blue and War Trace. Memories Of Silver produced five stakes producers with the group led by the dam of Gr.2 winner Hawkish and granddam of Gr.1 winner Manaal.

Winter Sunset also has a weanling American Pharoah colt.

Hill n’ Dale at Xalapa offered a colt out of Call to Service for Coteau Grove Farms with Mahmud Mouni going to $460,000 for the offering.

Call To Service is the dam of two winners from three to race with the group including her multiple stakes winner and Gr.1 placed The Wine Steward. Call To Service is a half-sister to Gr.2 winner and Gr.1 placed Isotherm, Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed Giant Game, and Gr.1 placed Gio Game. Her half-sister Adande is also the dam of Practical Joke’s dual Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed Skelly.

Mahmud Mouni also purchased a $385,000 Justify filly with other Justify yearlings selling for $350,000, $350,000, $335,000, etc.
