Miss Justice Gets First Stakes Win in Upavon Fillies’ Stakes

Miss Justice (4f Justify x Time Being, by Zamindar) made her stakes debut a winning one with a victory in Wednesday’s Upavon Fillies’ Stakes.

Racing over 1 ¼ miles on the Salisbury turf, she stayed close to the leaders early on with William Buick aboard. Her jockey released her going into the final quarter mile and she soon took the lead. It wasn’t easy going at that point though. Miss Justice had to battle to the line, beating Revoir by a head.

Trained by John and Thady Gosden for Wardley Bloodstock and Partners, Miss Justice has won each of her last two starts and has three other top two finishes in six starts overall.

The Al Shahania Stud-bred is the first stakes winner out of Time Being. That mare has produced two winners from three to race and is a full sister to Group I winner Timepiece, who produced the stakes placed Siyola.

Time Being is also a half-sister to Group I winner Passage of Time, Group II winner Father Time, and stakes winner Continuum. Passage of Time herself produced Grade II winner Time Test and two stakes winners.

This was the second stakes winner of the week for Justify, who saw son Big Truzz romp by seven lengths in the Ellis Park Derby on Sunday.
