Seven In-Foal Mares for Domestic Product at Keeneland January

As breeders eagerly await their first foals by Domestic Product in 2026, others have a chance to get in on the excitement next week when seven mares in foal to the stallion sell at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale.

The first mare in foal to Domestic Product to go through the ring is Hip 103, offered by Four Star Sales on behalf of Westbury Stables.

Curlin mare Curls for Girls is one of 10 winners from 11 to race out of the Easy Goer mare Montera. That mare produced three stakes performers, including Gr.3 winner Sue’s Good News, who went on to become the dam of multiple Gr.1 winner Tiz Miz Sue and Breeders’ Cup winner Bulletin with five of Sue’s Good News’ daughters also producing seven stakes performers between them. Curls For Girls is also a successful broodmare as the dam of last year’s Gr.3 Gotham S. winner Flood Zone and two placers from three to race.

The Practical Joke x Curlin cross the foal she’s carrying is bred on has seven winners from 10 starters.

The stakes-placed mare Timely Conquest is Hip 466, offered by Four Star Sales carrying her first foal on a March 6 cover.

Out of another stakes performers in Conquest Soprano, Timely Conquest is also a half-sister to the Gr.3 placed Euphoric and a great-granddaughter of the stakes winner Capdiva. Each of Timely Conquest’s first five dams have either won stakes or produced stakes performers with both her dam and her fourth dam both earning blacktype and producing blacktype performers.

The foal carried by Hip 805 is very closely related to a stakes performer in Multiverse.

Consigned by Scott Mallory and in-foal on a March 19 cover, the winning Mairead is carrying her second foal after producing a filly last year. The mare’s half-brother is Practical Joke’s Hutcheson S. second Multiverse with their Candy Ride dam having two winners from two to race. Mairead’s second dam is the stakes winning Lemonette, who produced another stakes performer with each of Mairead’s first four dams producing stakes performers.

Three of Domestic Product’s in-foal mares sell on Monday with the other four set to sell on Tuesday, ending with Mairead. Both sessions start at 10am ET.
