1.9 Million Guineas For Churchill’s Classic-Placed Survie At Tattersalls

Group winner and Prix de Diane runner-up Survie (4f Churchill - Sotteville, by Le Havre) was among the seven-figure lots during the Sceptre Session at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale on Tuesday, selling to MV Magnier for 1.9 million guineas.

Consigned by Nicolas Clement and Frauke Hermans, Survie finished a head second in last year’s Prix de Diane and went on to land Group 2 success in the Prix de Malleret on her next start.

The daughter of Churchill has run some fine races in defeat this season, including when second in the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet and third in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes.

Magnier said: “She’s a very good filly and Nicolas Clement has done a great job with her. We’re going to talk to Michael and Doreen [Tabor] and see what they want to do, but she might stay in training. We’ll make a plan in the next couple of days.

Churchill has had another great year. He’s a good stallion and is probably the most value horse we have at home now."
