Encouraging Classic Results for Acrobat

For a stallion that stands at a modest fee of just $13,750, Acrobat continues to produce strong results with his first crop of yearlings and had three sell at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale this week for $100,000 or more.

Burke Bloodstock were well rewarded for their Acrobat colt from well-bred import Maewyn (IRE) that was knocked down to Hong Kong based buyers K M Ng / Cody Mo / Golden River for $160,000.

A half-brother to Hong Kong winner The Winnabe, he comes from the family of Champion European 2YO and Group I sire Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) and Group I New Zealand Derby winner Sherwood Forest.

Acrobat’s second highest priced yearling, a colt from Musicmaker that sold for $130,000, was also a big pinhook winner for Willow Park Stud.

He was bought by to Kurrinda Bloodstock / MJD Racing and is the third foal of a metro winning All Too Hard half-sister to stakes-winner Just as Sharp from stakes-winner Readyor tracing back to Champion 3YO Filly Triscay. The colt was a bargain $10,000 purchase for Willow Park from the Morning Rise Stud draft at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale.

The highest priced filly for Acrobat was bred and sold by Bowness Stud with Williams Racing / Suman Hedge Bloodstock paying $110,000 for the half-sister to stakes-placed Sneaky Sunrise from winning So You Think mare Schifty Thinker.

Acrobat has five yearlings for both Inglis Premier and Magic Millions Adelaide next month.
