Glamour Mare Produces Second Winner
John Stewart’s Resolute Racing has been active at yearling sales all over the world in recent years and a high profile acquisition from the Coolmore Australia draft for $3million at Inglis Easter in 2024 was Ernaux (3f I Am Invincible x Booker, by Written Tycoon), who opened her account at Canterbury on Friday night.
The most expensive yearling by champion sire I Am Invincible ever sold, Ernaux is a work in progress for the Chris Waller stable.
Fourth and second at her two most recent runs at Newcastle, she stepped up to a metro maiden fillies event over 1100m and did best in a driving finish to post her first win.
Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, Ernaux was held up on the fence momentarily and had to change course, but when given clear running she hit the line hard to win by a head.
Ernaux was foaled and raised at Coolmore and runs in the Resolute Racing colours for a partnership involving Resolute and the Coolmore partners.
She is the second foal and second winner for Group I winning Written Tycoon mare Booker, who was bought by Tom Magnier for $1.6million at the 2020 Inglis Chairman’s Sale.
Coolmore sold a colt by Home Affairs from Booker at Magic Millions this year for $300,000 to David Ellis (BAFNZ)/Te Akau Racing and he has been sent to New Zealand.
Booker has no yearling for the sales in 2026, but has foaled this spring producing a colt by Justify.
