St Mark’s Basilica Colts Popular
St Mark’s Basilica had just two entries at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale in Victoria this week and both colts sold well fetching $150,000 and $140,000.
From the second Australian crop of the 2021 European Horse of the Year St Mark’s Basilica, both colts went to good judges.
Supreme Thoroughbreds offered the $150,000 colt from unraced Fastnet Rock mare Jamita, a full sister to Group III winner Hvasstan and he was snapped up by James Bester Bloodstock.
Jamita is now back in foal to St Mark’s Basilica.
Stonehouse Thoroughbreds offered the $140,000 colt from Posing (USA), who was bought by NZ based Devcich Bloodstock. Bred by Yarraman Park, he is a half-brother to Group II winner Konasana from an outstanding European female family.
St Mark’s Basilica will be back in Australia this spring at a fee of $38,500.
