Daughter Of St Mark’s Basilica Delivers On Promise

River Ara (2f St Mark’s Basilica - Twitch, by Azamour) gained a deserved first win when justifying favouritism at Leopardstown on Saturday.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained River Ara had placed on her last two starts and she built on those efforts with a half-length-success under the in-form Jack Cleary.

She made all in the hands of Cleary and showed a gritty attitude up the home straight to collect her first victory.

River Ara is yet another winner for her exciting sire, whose first crop also includes the unbeaten Prix Marcel Boussac heroine Diamond Necklace, Group 2 May Hill Stakes winner Aylin and Tipperary Listed scorer Thesecretadversary.

The juvenile was bred by Clarecastle Stud.
