Camelot Filly Off The Mark On Her Second Start

Sprightly Dance (3f Camelot - Posterity, by Indian Ridge) got off the mark at the second attempt with an easy win at Wolverhampton on Monday.

The Roger Varian-trained filly had finished second on her debut at Yarmouth earlier this month and built on that effort with a five-and-a-half-length victory under Ray Dawson.

Sprightly Dance, a well-related homebred for Merry Fox Stud, was prominent early on and came to take the lead two furlongs out. She stayed on well from the furlong pole to win comfortably.

The three-year-old was continuing the winning run for her sire following on from Pierre Bonnard’s success in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud on Sunday.
