High-Class Group Of Mares In Foal To City Of Troy Head To Tattersalls
The first mares in foal to world champion City Of Troy will go under the hammer at next week’s Tattersalls December Mares Sale.
Among the offerings are Avenue Sales’ Girl Like You, an American Pharoah mare from the family of Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff heroine Spain, as well as The Castlebridge Consignment’s Ocean Tides, a daughter of War Front out of a Galileo sister to Group 1 Criterium International scorer Johannes Vermeer.
The elite Sceptre Sessions will see five mares carrying to City Of Troy sell over the course of trade at Park Paddocks.
They include Baroda Stud’s stakes-placed Smile Of Love, a half-sister to the high-class Primo Bacio; Fittocks Stud’ Unaided, the dam of Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Uni; and Branton Court Stud’s Group-winning Pivotal mare Last Empire.
The group also features Glenvale Stud’s Group-winning Hermana Estrella (by Starspangledbanner) and Norelands’ Listed scorer Ritournelle, a daughter of Camelot from the family of this year’s Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup victor Big Mojo.
An unbeaten champion two-year-old and triple Group 1 winner at three, City Of Troy covered an outstanding book of mares in his first season this year.
Among the star names were Alluringly, the dam of 2025 Group 1 Cheveley Park heroine True Love (by No Nay Never); Amazonka, dam of Group 2 Coventry Stakes scorer and Group 1-placed Rashabar (by Holy Roman Emperor); Attire, the dam of multiple Group 1 winner Luxembourg (by Camelot); and Believe'N'Succeed, the dam of Epsom Derby hero Anthony Van Dyck.
Also among the coverings were Divisimo, a full-sister to the dam of Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Bluestocking (by Camelot) and 2025 Sussex Stakes scorer Qirat; Holly Golightly, a Gleneagles daughter of the influential Cassandra Go; and brilliant producer Lillie Langtry, the dam of Classic stars Minding, Tuesday and Empress Josephine.
The son of Justify’s book also contained Muravka, the dam of Group 1 Prix Morny winner The Wow Signal (by Starspangledbanner); Raven's Lady, the dam of last year’s Group 1 Prix de la Foret victress Ramatuelle (by Justify); Sagely, dam of this term’s Group 1 Middle Park Stakes winner Wise Approach and triple top-level scorer Perfect Power.
City Of Troy’s debut book also included champion filly Snow Fairy; Seatone, dam of Group 1 Falmouth Stakes winner Prosperous Voyage; and Zaykava, a half-sister to Group 1-winning racehorse and sire Zarak and the dam of recent Listed scorer Zaydann.
