Juvenile Camelot Colt Lands Smart Success

Golden Knight (2c Camelot - Bye Bye Birdie, by Oasis Dream) landed his first win with a comfortable success at Newmarket on Wednesday.

The Ed Walker-trained two-year-old was fourth on his debut at Haydock last month and stepped forward to record a length-and-three-quarter victory after making all under Kieran Shoemark.

Previous winners of the mile novice contest include triple Group 1 winner and Grange Stud resident Hurricane Lane.

The Coolmore-bred Golden Knight was continuing Camelot’s fine run of form with three individual stakes winners leading the way in recent days.

They include Group 3 Zetland Stakes scorer Pierre Bonnard and Group 3 Eyrefield Stakes victor Christmas Day.
