
St Mark’s Basilica Foals Make Six Figures In Newmarket
Leading first-season sire St Mark’s Basilica was well represented at this week’s Tattersalls December Foal Sale, with his progeny making prices of up to 200,000gns.
That lot was the Norelands-consigned colt out of the black-type-placed Coeur d'Amour and he was purchased by Loughmore Stables for 200,000gns.
The colt’s page also includes champion miler Charyn, Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Wings Of War and multiple Group scorer and Group 1-placed Oscula.
In addition, Prospect Stables’ out of Group scorer Dolce Strega was knocked down to JC Bloodstock for 92,000gns. His family includes Australian Group 1 star Amelia’s Jewel and Group 2 Lowther Stakes victress Flashy Wings.
Meadowlands Stud’s filly from the family of Dubai Millennium also proved popular when selling to Manister House Stud for 85,000gns.
