$550,000 Mo Town Runner Tops Inglis Digital USA Sale
Only a week after he recorded his second career stakes victory, Brotha Keny (3g Mo Town x Raramuri Princess, by Northern Afleet) made history as the most expensive horse ever sold by Inglis Digital USA when bringing $550,000 to top the Inglis Digital USA December sale.
Purchased by Meah/Lloyd Bloodstock for Michael and Jules Iavarone, TCC Stables, and Morplay Racing from Paramount Sales, he came into the sale after winning the Zia Park Derby by half a length to end November. It was the second stakes win in three starts for the 3-year-old Mo Town runner, who also won the Bourbon Flight Stakes for former trainer William Morey and owners Lance and Steve Kinross.
Brotha Keny’s victories came after finishing third in both the Gr.3 Indiana Derby and Gr.3 West Virginia Derby this summer in his first two stakes runs.
“This is the type of horse you dream of owning, and they don't show up on the open market very often, so fair play goes out to Inglis Digital USA for recruiting him,” David Meah said. “He's been a model of consistency this year ever since he got back on the dirt. Numbers don't lie, and his are trending in a very positive direction.”
The gelding will now join Jose D'Angelo’s barn.
Brotha Keny is one of eight stakes winners and 14 stakes performers for Mo Town this year. Those 14 stakes performers tie him with stallions such as Candy Ride and More Than Ready with his eight stakes winners more than each of those stallions.
