Mo Town Juvenile Filly Proves Best in Unveiling
Only one horse was good enough to stay within 10½ lengths of Mo Town juvenile Mobelladream (2f Mo Town x High Pitch, by Medaglia d’Oro) when she debuted on Monday.
Going over 5½ furlongs on the Finger Lakes dirt, the Mobelladream was quick out of the gate before dropping out to be one of the back markers of the front group. The filly showed plenty of speed around the turn when flying along the outside of the field to reach the leader and enter a duel in the stretch.
The leader wasn’t willing to give up, and the pair went head-to-head until the line when Mobelladream had half a length advantage. The third-placed runner was 10½ lengths behind the winner, with the fourth-place runner 23¾ lengths back.
Trained by Anthony Ferraro for Paul Wells, the filly was bred by John McClutchy and Shamrock Racing Enterprises.
She is the fourth winner from four to race out of the winning Medaglia d’Oro mare High Pitch, who is out of stakes winner Mystic Melody. A half-sister to dual Grade I winner Alpha, Mystic Melody is out of the stakes-winning Munnaya, who produced four stakes performers overall from her 12 winners.
Mo Town has sired four juvenile winners this year with his 84 winners overall in 2025, fourth best among fourth crop sires.
