Mo Town Colt Impressive in Saratoga Maiden Victory
Mo Dodgy (2c Mo Town x Gypsy Lass, by Candy Ride) was an impressive Saratoga Maiden Special Weight winner on Friday with a 3 ¼ length victory in his second start.
The 5 ½ furlong dirt race saw the Kevin Rice runner hustled out of the gate to challenge for the lead before settling just behind a keen leader.
He let the leader open up just over a length down the backstretch before reeling him in around the turn and confronting him in the stretch.
The colt took off once he straightened up and bolted away with the lead to easily win by 3 ¼ lengths.
Bred by Joe and John Mulholland, the colt races for Bella Mia Stables. He is the third winner out of Gypsy Lass, a daughter of Grade II winner Irish Gypsy. A granddaughter of Grade I winner Delicate Vine, Irish Gypsy is out of the stakes winning Rayelle, who also produced a Grade III placed runner.
Mo Town is the sire of 61 winners in 2025 with three stakes winners and seven stakes performers, putting him in the top seven in both categories in his generation.
