Two For Epicenter at Fasig-Tipton July
Champion 3-Year-Old Epicenter has two yearlings set to go through the ring at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale on July 8 as his first crop makes its much-anticipated yearling sales debut.
Epicenter enters this yearling sales season on the back of his 21 weanlings sold last year averaging $122,619, led by a $300,000 colt. That average put him fourth among all first crop sires with his gross of $2.575 million putting him eighth among all sires at the breeding stock sales.
The first of his yearlings comes 21 hips in when Taylor Made offers the New York-bred colt out of Sweet Love as Hip 21.
Sweet Love has produced three winners from three to race, led by four-time winner Luna Luca. This page gets even more productive one dam back with the Joe Fafone-bred yearling’s dam a full sister to Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Adventist and half-sister to Group III winner Dijeerr and stakes winners Isn’t He Clever and Sharp Writer. Those runners are four of 10 winners out of Sharp Minister.
Sharp Minister wasn’t a winner herself, but is a full sister to a prolific stakes winner in multiple Grade II winner and multiple Grade I placed Flag Down and the stakes placed Golden Silk.
The second through the ring is Hip 61, a filly offered by Four Star Sales out of Ha’Penny.
Bred by D.J. Stable, this will be the filly’s second time going through the ring after selling at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. This is the first foal out of three-time winner Ha’Penny, who herself is out of Grade III winner and Grade II-placed Mo’ Green. An Uncle Mo daughter, Mo’ Green has two winners from two to race.
This page is full of bold font with Mo’ Green one of three stakes performers out of her own stakes placed dam She’s a Rebel Too. That mare is a full sister to stakes winner Two Punch Sonny and half-sister to Ragtime Doll. In all, She’s a Rebel Too’s dam produced four stakes performers and seven winners overall from seven foals with a four-time winning daughter producing the stakes winning Whoop’s Ah Daisy.
The Epicenter filly sees 15 stakes performers, led by seven stakes winners, under her dams on the page.
The Fasig-Tipton July Sale starts at 10:00a.m. on July 8 in Lexington, Ky. followed by a Horses of Racing Age Sale.
