Exciting Debut Win For Son Of Starspangledbanner

Noelan Star (2g Starspangledbanner - Noelani, by Nayef) made a spectacular start to his career when running out an eight-and-a-half length winner at Newcastle on Saturday.

The Ed Bethell-trained gelding was ridden by Callum Rodriguez and the pair were positioned prominently before moving into second spot three furlongs out. Noelan Star took up the lead with two furlongs left to run and went clear to score by daylight.

Bethell said: “That was very impressive. Noelan Star has worked nicely at home, he would have debuted earlier but had a slight niggle with a scope but he's fine now and he's one for the future.

“There's plenty of stamina on the dam’s side so he was always going to stay and he might get a bit further.”

Noelan Star was bred by Graf and Grafin Stauffenberg.
