Juvenile Saxon Warrior Filly Gets Off The Mark
Piccola Piuma (2f Saxon Warrior - Shaaqaaf, by Sepoy) became the latest juvenile winner for Saxon Warrior when easily scoring in Rome on Tuesday.
The Stefano Botti-trained filly had finished second on debut and improved on that effort with a ready three-and-a-half-length success. In third was fellow Saxon Warrior filly Pomeranica.
Saxon Warrior’s two-year-olds have been enjoying a fine run of form lately. They include last week’s Listed Star Appeal Stakes scorer Andab and the unbeaten Group 3 Preis des Winterfavoriten scorer Gostam.
The sire's yearlings have also proven popular in the sales ring. Ballyhimikin Stud’s full-brother to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf scorer Victoria Road and Andab realised 280,000gns to Jamie McCalmont Bloodstock at Tattersalls Book 1 last week.
Piccola Piuma was bred by Suroben Ltd.
