No Nay Never Colt Makes All To Group 2 Victory

Al Qudra (3c No Nay Never – Piece Of Paradise, by Holy Roman Emperor) became No Nay Never’s second stakes winner of the weekend when landing the Group 2 Al Rayyan Mile at Ul Uqda on Sunday.

A Listed winner and runner-up in a Grade 1 as a juvenile, the Charlie Appleby-trained colt made a promising return to action at Meydan last month. Making all under William Buick on Sunday, he was shaken up after the two furlong pole and ran on well to score by two and a half lengths.

“It was a straightforward win,” Buick commented. “He brought good form into the race and he's got a great attitude. He stays a mile but he's not short of boot, and fast ground suits him well.”

Al Qudra is owned by Godolphin, who purchased the Rockfield Farm-bred colt as a yearling for 425,000gns. The son of No Nay Never is the first foal out of Listed scorer Piece Of Paradise (Holy Roman Emperor).
