No Nay Never Colt Readily Captures First Win

Goldinthesea (3c No Nay Never - Jabhaat, by Hard Spun) got off the mark at the second attempt when scoring comfortably at Dundalk on Friday.

The Joseph O’Brien-trained colt was a promising third on debut at the track last month and took another step forward to register his first win.

Ridden by Scott McCullagh, the son of No Nay Never was positioned prominently and came to take up the lead from two furlongs out. The three-year-old was pushed out in the final furlong to strike by three lengths.

McCullagh said: "The word in the camp was that they were quite pleased that he had stepped forward from his first day and it was a lovely effort.

"He hit the line well, I got a nice feel off him there today. It was very straightforward.

"I don't think he has to go any further yet. I think there is still plenty of improvement in him."

Goldinthesea was bred by Pier House Stud.
