No Nay Never Colt Remains Unbeaten With Grade 3 Success
Hey Nay Nay (2c No Nay Never - Travel, by Street Cry) maintained his unbeaten record when landing the Grade 3 Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes in fine style on Sunday.
The John Sadler-trained juvenile had made a successful debut at Santa Anita in June and followed up with an impressive seven-length win in the black-type Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Park last month.
Ridden by Hector Berrios and sent off a warm order to make it three wins from as many starts, the son of No Nay Never came home by a comfortable length-and-a-half in the mile contest.
Sadler said: “I told him [Hector Berrios] to get clear because when you're running 13 two-year-olds on the turf you don't want to get slaughtered by some 60-1 shot. I said put him in the race and he just laid second and that was good.
“We haven't seen the best of him. He's a real chill horse. He takes everything well. The idea was to get a race here so he's ready for the Breeders' Cup.”
Hey Nay Nay was bred by Lynch Bages, Camas Park Stud and Summerhill.
