No Nay Never Filly Stuns In The Group 2 Railway Stakes
True Love (2f No Nay Never – Alluringly, by Fastnet Rock) bred and owned by Coolmore partners, delivered a breathtaking performance in Saturday’s Group 2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh, becoming the first filly in over three decades to win the historic juvenile sprint.
Trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden by Ryan Moore, the Queen Mary Stakes heroine broke smartly and travelled powerfully throughout before quickening clear to score by five commanding lengths from stablemate Puerto Rico (Wootton Bassett).
“She’s fast so we weren’t sure she’d get six furlongs, but she saw it out very well. We couldn’t be happier with her,” said O’Brien.
Her win marks a significant milestone, with John Magnier noting:
“She’s a good individual and very well bred… This is the first time in 30 years a filly has won this race.”
True Love has earned Group 2 victories at both Royal Ascot and the Curragh, with Group 1 targets including the Phoenix Stakes, Prix Morny, and Cheveley Park Stakes under strong consideration.
