Saxon Warrior Colt Lands Group Success At Baden-Baden

Gostam (2c Saxon Warrior - Goiania, by Oasis Dream) became the latest Group winner for Saxon Warrior on Wednesday when landing the Zukunfts-Rennen at Baden-Baden in Germany.

The Andreas Wöhler-trained colt had run out a four-length winner on debut at Munich in July and confirmed the promise of that effort with another taking performance under Eduardo Pedroza.

Sent off favourite to make it two wins from as many starts, the Saxon Warrior juvenile was quick to break from the stalls and came home to win by a ready two lengths.

The Group 3 Zukunfts-Rennen has been won in recent years by subsequent Group 1 Criterium International winner and French Classic-placed Alson.

Gostam was bred by Gestut Fahrhof.
